The new NSP Shortboards and Fishes incorporate the latest advancements in the E2 epoxy manufacturing process, creating lighter NSP surfboards than previous. The weight reduction is achieved by a number of factors. Primarily, it comes from the use of a lighter surface lamination in combination with a 30 grams per liter, Secure Cell E.P.S. core. This new core material is 50% denser than the previously used foams and therefore allows us to use a lighter weight of fiberglass. Additionally, because the core is denser it provides a faster return rate as the board flexes which creates a livelier feeling, more responsive board.

New is the combination of a specially designed light weight, fiberglass matt with an additional 2/3 deck layer of woven fiberglass weave on the deck. This adds strength where it’s needed most, under your feet. The bottom fiberglass lay up is snow supported by a Uni-Fiber stringer that combines lengthwise glass fibers into the surface lamination. The combination of fibers creates increased tensile strength. Collectively, the revised deck lay up and the Uni-Fiber bottom stringer provide strength and control of the flex characteristics of the board.

The rails of the board have been reinforced with increased layers of fiberglass on the new models as well. The additional fiberglass/epoxy in this crucial area of the board will protect from dings and increase the break strength by acting as a frame.

We’ve upgraded the boards finish for the next year. The Shortboards feature a real pro-look with the hand wet-sanded, Performance Finish. The Fishes receive the fantastic, shiny, polish finish like the Fun and Longboards.

Simply, the new features combined create a better riding board and better looking board.
